Auction Lot 15 is a giclée print of a painting by local artist Mike Ainscough. The print has been produced in a limited edition of 6, and this is print no. 2 of the edition. Giclée prints are high quality inkjet reproductions of paintings or photographs, and the prints of this edition are printed on Hahnemuhle German Etching Paper, which has an archival life of 80-100 years.
The painting, titled "The Golden Hour", is a portrait of Henfield Common in the hour before sunset - the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset being known by artists and photographers as the "golden" hours - when the intensity of the sunlight has been tempered by receding or approaching darkness.
