Horsham District Volunteer Awards 2022 - the Haven Dream Team win! Congratulations to our amazing volunteers for winning the Dream Team Award at the Horsham District Volunteer Awards Horsham District Council’s Voluntary Sector Support wanted to recognise and reward the exceptional work of local volunteers during The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration week which coincided with the national Volunteers’ Week.
The Team's nominator said:
“…a wonderful group of over 60 volunteers who carry out many vital roles for us here at the Henfield Haven. Without their cheery ‘can-do’ attitudes, quiet ‘getting on with it’ approach and dedication to the very important work of the Haven, we wouldn’t be able to function.” The trophy awarded on the day was hand turned and upcycled from reclaimed oak stair treads. With thanks to skilled craftsman, Peter Kelly, a volunteer himself at Amberley Museum and West Sussex Wood Turners. The trophies were presented by the District Council Chairman Kate Rowbottom and High Sherriff James Whitmore. |

Volunteering opportunities - Activities & Escorts
Do you have a few hours a week to spare? Come and join our friendly team of volunteers. We are looking for Activity Volunteers to help out on Care Days - Monday, Wednesday & Friday - and our Thursday Club. This involves playing games and cards, doing puzzles, arts & crafts, or just chatting to our customers.

We need escorts to help collect our customers on the mini-bus. There are also opportunities to help in the kitchen, Haven café and gardens. You would be joining our lovely team that was recognised in 2020 with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Services.
